God is Trustworthy
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5b
My granddaughter was over one day and wanted to play with the little girl next door, but was afraid to go to the door by herself. “Will you go with me, Grandma?” This makes all the difference sometimes; we just don’t want to go alone.
Big people can be afraid to ‘go alone,’ too. What a relief that we don’t have to! God has promised to always be with us. So much of our journey is about dispelling lies and replacing them with truth. Lies contribute to fear and discouragement. They separate us from the very real help God wants to give us.
These passages contain truth, truth that can dispel many lies. Do you believe it’s up to you to find your way? The Lord himself goes before you. Do you believe your life doesn’t matter that much to God? He will be with you. Do you believe you are alone? Never will he leave you. Do you believe God isn’t reliable and loyal? He will never forsake you.
He is utterly committed to care for you no matter what the circumstances. Is that not the true measure of love? Be sure to add this promise to your backpack because you’ll need it on your healing journey. Believe God and you will be able to approach any door with confidence.
